Her name is Star, but she’s really more of a Starfish. She loves to swim in the puppy pools at theYolo County Animal Services Shelter near Sacramento, California.
Swimming isn’t her only talent. She loves running, playing fetch, and getting belly rubs. Of course, she also knows the value of a good nap. Preferably a good nap with you on the couch, where you can scratch her ears and tell her how pretty she is.
She’s a little worried, because she’s been in the shelter since April and she was really hoping to be home by now. In fact, she’s developing something called “kennel stress” and she can go to a foster home if an adopter doesn’t find her right away.
So if you don’t have other pets, or maybe just a nice, mellow male dog who can understand she’s going to be stressed for a while, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (530) 668-5287 and offer to adopt or foster Star!

Astro has been working as the office manager at the Friends United with the Richmond Shelter (FURS) dog kennel in Richmond, Virginia.
He excels in human management, and he’s pretty sure the dogs know who’s boss, but he’s looking for a new home-based opportunity. His salary is pretty reasonable: lots of belly rubs and a few toys to play with.
His five year plan? Supervising a family of his very own.
If you’re hiring, call his office at 804-364-1944!
